Nothing Phone (4a) and (4b) add 6GB variants from Rs 35,999

NEW DELHI: Nothing has added 6GB RAM variants of Phone (4a) and Phone (4b) in India, cutting the starting prices to Rs 39,999 and Rs 35,999 for 6GB + 128GB configurations on Flipkart. The rest of the hardware matches the existing phones. The move follows months of memory-led price hikes that had pushed the older 8GB base trims higher than their original launch tags.

Phone (4a) still uses a 6.78-inch 1.5K flexible AMOLED panel at 120 Hz, a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, a 5,400mAh battery with 50W wired charging, and Nothing OS 4.1 on Android 16. The camera layout stays a 50MP main, 50MP periscope telephoto and 8MP ultra-wide, with a 32MP front camera. Phone (4b) keeps its 6.77-inch Full HD+ AMOLED at 120 Hz, Snapdragon 6 Gen 4, 6,000mAh cell with 33W charging, and a simpler dual rear camera with a 16MP front sensor.

Higher RAM options remain on sale. On Flipkart at the time of the variant launch, Phone (4a) 8GB + 128GB listed around Rs 44,999, with 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB climbing toward about Rs 50,999. Phone (4b) 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB sat near Rs 39,999 and Rs 40,999. Phone (4a) Pro continues from 8GB RAM at Rs 49,999.

Why Nothing cut RAM instead of list prices

When Phone (4a) opened in India earlier in 2026, the 8GB + 128GB model started near Rs 31,999. Phone (4b) opened near Rs 34,999 for the same RAM class. Rising memory costs then lifted those stickers across several brands. Rather than reverse the hike on 8GB stocks, Nothing introduced leaner 6GB bases so the Glyph phones can sit under Rs 40,000 again while 8GB units keep their current shelf prices.

For buyers, 6GB is enough for everyday apps, UPI and social video, but heavy multitasking and long gaming sessions still favour 8GB when festival discounts close the gap. Storage stays 128GB on the new bases, so cloud backups or a clean app list matter more than on 256GB trims. Glyph light patterns and Nothing OS features are unchanged on the 6GB cuts.

Where the new bases sit in the mid-range

At Rs 35,999, Phone (4b) becomes the cheaper door into Nothing OS with the Glyph light bar and the larger 6,000mAh cell. Phone (4a) at Rs 39,999 keeps the faster chipset, brighter flexible panel and stronger camera module for about Rs 4,000 more. Both stay on Nothing's usual online and partner channels, with Flipkart carrying the new SKUs beside older inventory.
