NEET-PG 2026: 2,445 Candidates in Jaipur to Retake Exam After Power G…

Jaipur, August 31, 2026: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has announced a re-examination for 2,445 NEET-PG 2026 candidates after a technical disruption prevented them from completing the examination at two centres in Jaipur on August 30.

The affected candidates were appearing at iON Digital Zone iDZ Sitapura Centres (Test Centre Nos. 41682 and 41683) in Jaipur. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the examination could not be completed due to internal power supply issues at the centres, which were attributed to the examination conducting agency, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).

NEET-PG 2026 Retest Date and Time

NBEMS has scheduled the re-examination for the affected candidates on:

- Date: September 5, 2026 (Saturday)

- Time: 3:00 PM

- Location: Jaipur, Rajasthan

The board said that the venue details and other examination-related instructions will be communicated separately to the concerned candidates. Revised admit cards will also be issued for the re-examination.

What Happened at the Jaipur Centres?

The NEET-PG examination was conducted in a computer-based format. At the two affected centres in Jaipur's Sitapura area, repeated power disruptions reportedly caused computer systems to shut down during the examination, interrupting candidates' access to the test. The disruption led to protests by affected candidates outside the examination centres.

NBEMS subsequently decided to conduct a fresh examination for all 2,445 affected candidates to ensure that they are not disadvantaged because of the technical failure.

A three-member committee has also been constituted to investigate the power supply failure at the affected examination centres.

NEET-PG 2026 Conducted Across India

The NEET-PG 2026 examination was conducted on August 30, 2026, across 1,111 examination centres in 339 cities, covering all 36 States and Union Territories.

As per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, 2,73,096 candidates were registered, while 2,65,980 candidates appeared for the examination. The test was successfully completed for approximately 2,63,535 candidates nationwide.

The examination was conducted under extensive security and monitoring arrangements, including Aadhaar-based authentication and live CCTV surveillance.

NBEMS Assures Fair Opportunity

NBEMS has expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to the affected candidates and said the re-examination is being conducted to provide them with a fair and equitable opportunity to appear for NEET-PG 2026.

Candidates affected by the Jaipur disruption are advised to keep checking official NBEMS communications for their revised admit cards, examination venue and further instructions.
