NBEMS extends FAT 2026 applications; trainees can file till 8 Sep 11:55 pm

Formative Assessment Test 2026 applications are open again on a revised clock after several candidates asked for more time. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences notice is dated 02-09-2026. The subject is Extension of the Application Submission Timeline for Formative Assessment Test 2026. The two-page bilingual file is on natboard.edu.in. CreationDate on the local PDF is Wed Sep 2 14:10:56 2026 UTC, which is 19:40 IST the same evening.

NBEMS had invited FAT 2026 applications on 29.07.2026 for NBEMS Diploma, DNB Post MBBS, DrNB Super Specialty and DrNB (Direct 6 years) courses. That July invite still defines who the test is for. The 02 September notice only stretches the submission hours. It does not invent a new syllabus, a new exam city list or a new result calendar. Institutes must still pay the examination fee with their online submission, as the institute row of the revised table states.

The opening paragraph of the notice says the extension follows representations from several candidates. That is the reason printed on the page. It is not a blanket reopen of every NBEMS form then open on the Board site. If you are watching a different NBEMS product this week, check that product's own notice rather than borrowing this FAT clock.

Two clocks: accredited institutes and trainees

Accredited institutions must complete online submission of applications and payment of the examination fee from 03.09.2026 at 03:00 PM to 06.09.2026 till 11:55 PM. That is the institute row. It ends two days before the trainee row. An institute that misses 6 September at 11:55 pm cannot lean on the trainee cut that sits later.

NBEMS trainees must complete online submission of applications from 03.09.2026 at 03:00 PM to 08.09.2026 till 11:55 PM. Both rows open at the same 3:00 pm start on 3 September. The trainee cut on 8 September at 11:55 pm is the later of the two. All concerned institutes and candidates are advised to finish within the revised timelines. Waiting for the last hour is not a plan the notice endorses.

Read the two rows together. Institute filing and fee payment close first. Trainee filing closes second. If your hospital has not pushed the online submission and fee before 6 September 11:55 pm, the trainee login window alone will not repair that institutional step. If your institute has filed and you still need to complete the trainee side, the 8 September 11:55 pm cut is yours.

The file does not reprint a FAT exam date, a shift timing, a centre list or a score release hour. It does not reopen a different NBEMS examination. It only extends application submission for the Formative Assessment Test already invited on 29 July for the four course groups named above. Treat every other early-September NBEMS operational PDF as a separate product with its own clock.

Keep this extension separate from the DrNB Final Only Practical reopen, the Direct Recruitment exam date change, and the Post Diploma OPJR joining steps posted around the same days. Those files time different workflows. Mixing them will scramble which deadline you are watching on 6 September versus 8 September.
