GURUGRAM: Picking a music class in this city often comes down to two questions: what does it cost each month, and is the school close enough to reach after work or school. Two long-running schools publish enough on their own websites to answer at least part of that. Path of Music has centres in Sector 23 and Sector 47, and One World College of Music runs a campus in Sushant Lok Phase 1. This guide sets out what each school's site says, as read on the morning of 8 October 2026.

Path of Music says it was set up in 1996. Its main centre and corporate office are at SCO-30, second floor, Sector 23 Market, Gurugram 122017, and the contact page lists a second Gurugram centre in Sector 47. A third centre labelled Gurgaon on the same page is actually at the CISF Camp in Bijwasan, New Delhi, and the school also lists a centre in New York. The school says it is affiliated with Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Trinity College London and Rock School London, which this guide reports as its own statement.

The school's course list runs to more than a dozen subjects across Western and Indian instruments, vocal music, dance and fine art. Each course is listed at four to six classes a month, with both online and centre-based classes for most subjects. Western dance, which covers hip hop, jazz and zumba according to the page, is listed as centre-only. A free demo class is offered across courses.

Path of Music puts its fees in plain view on its classes page. As of 8 October 2026, 8:58 am IST, its classes page lists monthly fees of Rs 4,000 each for piano, violin, drums and sitar, Rs 3,500 for tabla and Rs 3,200 for flute. Guitar, harmonium, keyboard or synthesizer and vocal classes are Rs 2,800 a month each. Fine art is Rs 2,200, and Kathak and Western dance are Rs 2,000 each.

The minimum ages vary by instrument. The page lists piano, Kathak, Western dance and fine art from age four, violin, tabla, flute and harmonium from age five, and guitar, drums, sitar and keyboard from age six. Vocal classes are listed for all ages, and the FAQ on the page says there is no upper age limit.

One World College of Music, and what to check before you sign up

For learners who want a certificate at the end, the course list says which exam board each subject follows. Piano and violin are tied to Trinity College London graded exams, guitar and drums to Rock School London, and tabla, sitar, harmonium, vocal and Kathak to Prayag Sangeet Samiti, with diploma and higher levels listed for several of these. The page does not say whether hobby learners are expected to sit these exams, so that is worth asking at the demo class.

A few details on the Path of Music site do not line up, and parents should check them directly. The contact page gives hours of 6 am to 10 pm, Monday to Sunday, while the classes page says 7 am to 9 pm, seven days a week. The descriptions under flute and Western dance repeat the text written for violin. An older FAQ answer elsewhere on the site quotes hourly rates that differ from the monthly fees above. The classes page also tells readers to call for current offers, which this guide does not repeat.

One World College of Music takes a different approach. Its address is A-872 D, Sushant Lok Phase 1, Gurugram 122002. The about page describes it as a cultural hub for both musicians and theatre students, with programmes for beginners, hobbyists, children and people who want to study performing arts full-time. It says the faculty also mentors students who write original music and scripts through to production.

The campus page is the most detailed part of the site. The college says it occupies an independent building of about 4,000 square feet, which it describes as open round the clock for performers to practise, rehearse and record. It lists a recording studio wired across three floors, a performance room that seats 40 with an 8 ft by 16 ft stage and stage lighting, private practice rooms, a rehearsal studio and teaching rooms that it says are sound insulated. There is also a terrace.

Its guitar programme is built on weekly one-on-one lessons, according to the guitar studies page, covering blues, rock, pop, funk, jazz, R&B and classical guitar. The syllabus listed includes reading notation and chord charts, scales and arpeggios across the fretboard, plectrum and fingerstyle technique, and improvisation. The site also has pages for drum studies and a music production lab.

One World College does not publish fees on its website, and its footer still reads 2021. A link on the menu to two new centres led to an error page on 8 October. Anyone interested should ask the college for its current fees, batch timings and which programmes are running this term. The contact page lists two phone numbers and two email addresses.

Music is not the only after-school option covered on this site. There is a guide to dance classes at Delhi Dance Academy in Sector 50, one to pottery classes in Gurugram, and a look at baking workshops at a Sector 50 studio for older children and adults.
