GURUGRAM: Museo Camera in DLF Phase IV has a run of film screenings, book talks and a guided walk on its calendar between 3 and 11 October, and most of them are free to attend, according to the museum's own events listing. The museum is on Shri Ganesh Mandir Marg in Sector 28 and keeps its usual hours of 11 am to 7 pm, with Mondays closed.

The first falls on Saturday, 3 October. A screening of Not a Wasteland: Tale of the Desert runs from 5 pm to 6.30 pm, and the listing shows a fee of Rs 250 with a registration button.

Sunday, 4 October, is the busiest day. Time Lapse, a guided walk tracing two centuries of analog photography, goes from 12 noon to 2 pm at Rs 500. A book discussion of The Kite Runner runs from 12.30 pm to 2 pm, and Company Period Art: The Visual Memory of an Era is set for 5 pm to 7 pm. The discussion and the Company Period Art session are both marked "Free, just drop in".

The rest of the week and the weekend after

The museum is shut on Monday, 5 October, and the listing has nothing for Tuesday. Wednesday, 7 October, brings a screening of To Die a Frenchman from 5.30 pm to 7 pm, again free and open to anyone who walks in.

On Thursday, 8 October, The Tihar Players is being launched as a book, from 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm, and the listing says entry is free. Saturday, 10 October, brings an author interview for The Imitation Englishman from 5 pm to 7 pm, also free.

The ticketed event closing the stretch is Stories from the Living Room by Barricade on Sunday, 11 October, from 7 pm to 8.30 pm. The listing puts the fee at Rs 599 and asks visitors to register.

The event pages give only a title, a date, a time and a fee. They carry no description of who is speaking or what each session covers, so readers who want that detail will need to contact the museum on +91 9810752279 or through the enquiry form on its website. The ticketed sessions carry a registration button on the museum's site.

General entry to the museum is a separate matter. Its visit page lists Rs 200 for Indian nationals, Rs 300 for foreign nationals and Rs 150 for an audio guide, with tickets sold on the spot. The events listing does not say whether a free session also covers gallery entry, so it is worth asking at the counter.

Looking a little further, the listing shows a book exchange called A Day for Book Lovers on 17 and 18 October from 11 am to 7 pm, free to drop in. On 23 October the museum has an author interview for Days of Recovery from 5 pm to 7 pm and a screening of The Lotus and the Swan at Rs 350 for the same slot. The photography exhibition Life is in Many Days continues in the galleries until 25 October.
