If you want a 5G phone for under Rs 16,000 in Flipkart's Big Billion Days, three newer names keep turning up at the top of the list: the Mivi One 5G, the HMD Vibe2 Pro 5G and the Lava Virat V1 Pro 5G. All three have 128GB of storage and a 6,000mAh battery, and all three are priced close to each other. The differences are in the screen, the chip and how far your money stretches on RAM.
Here is how they compare on Flipkart's listings, price as of 9 October 2026, 2:46 AM IST. These are selling prices before bank or exchange offers.
Prices on Flipkart
The Mivi One 5G is the cheapest way in. The 4GB RAM model in Blue or Dark Blue is Rs 11,999, the 6GB model in Green is Rs 13,499 and the 8GB model in Pink or Burgundy is Rs 14,999. When the phone first appeared on Flipkart last month, as we reported in our Mivi One 5G launch story, the same three were listed at Rs 12,999, Rs 14,999 and Rs 16,499. So the sale takes Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 off each.
The HMD Vibe2 Pro 5G with 6GB and 128GB is Rs 15,999 in Silver Mist, Aqua Green and Cosmic Purple. The 8GB version, which Flipkart lists with the Sarvam AI assistant in the name, is Rs 17,999. That is Rs 1,000 above the launch offer prices of Rs 14,999 and Rs 16,999 in our HMD Vibe2 Pro 5G report, so check the listing on the day you buy.
The Lava Virat V1 Pro 5G comes in one configuration, 6GB and 128GB, at Rs 15,999 in Spiti Frost and Sikkim Midnight. Lava also sells the cheaper Virat V1 5G at Rs 11,999 for 64GB and Rs 14,499 for 128GB.
Screen
This is where the HMD pulls ahead. It has a 6.78 inch Full HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, according to HMD's launch details. The Mivi has a 6.75 inch HD+ screen and the Lava a 6.745 inch HD+ screen, according to their Flipkart listings. HD+ is a lower resolution, and on a screen this large, text and photos look softer than on Full HD+. If you read a lot or watch videos on your phone, the HMD's display is the main reason to pay the extra Rs 2,500 over the 6GB Mivi.
Mivi's launch messaging mentions a 90Hz refresh rate on the One 5G. Lava's Flipkart listing does not state one for the Virat V1 Pro, so ask the seller or check the listing's full specifications if smooth scrolling matters to you.
Chip and memory
Each phone uses a different entry level 5G chip. The Mivi runs Qualcomm's Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, the HMD has MediaTek's Dimensity 6300 and the Lava uses Unisoc's T8200. All three are built for everyday use: messaging, social apps, video calls, payments and casual games. None of them is meant for heavy gaming at high settings, and you should not expect the speed of a Rs 30,000 phone.
RAM is where the Mivi stands out on value. Its 8GB model costs Rs 14,999, which is Rs 1,000 less than 6GB on the HMD or the Lava. More RAM helps when you keep many apps open, so a buyer who switches between WhatsApp, a browser and a payments app all day will feel the difference over the phone's life.
Cameras, battery and charging
The HMD has a 64MP Sony IMX682 main camera and a 13MP front camera. The Mivi and the Lava both list a 50MP rear camera, and the Mivi has an 8MP front camera. Megapixels alone do not decide photo quality, but the HMD's higher resolution selfie camera is a plus for video calls.
All three have a 6,000mAh battery, which should last a full day of normal use. The HMD supports 33W charging and comes with a charger in the box, according to HMD. Mivi's launch messaging lists 18W charging. Before you buy any budget phone, check the box contents on the listing, because a missing charger adds to the real cost.
Software and after-sales
The Mivi and HMD run Android 16, according to their listings and launch details. HMD also points to more than 200 service centres in India. Mivi is better known for earbuds and speakers, and this is its first phone, so its service network for phones is newer. Lava has a long record of selling phones in India and gives one year of warranty on the device and six months on the accessories in the box, according to its Flipkart listing.
Which one should you buy?
Buy the Mivi One 5G if price is the main thing. At Rs 11,999 for 4GB, or Rs 14,999 for 8GB, it gives you the most memory for the money. Pick the 6GB or 8GB model rather than 4GB if you plan to keep the phone for more than two years.
Buy the HMD Vibe2 Pro 5G if you care about the screen and the camera. At Rs 15,999, its Full HD+ 120Hz display, 13MP selfie camera and 33W charger in the box make it the most complete package of the three.
The Lava Virat V1 Pro 5G costs the same as the HMD but has a lower resolution screen. It makes sense if you prefer Lava's service network or find a bigger bank discount on it on the day. If you only need 4G and want to spend even less, our comparison of budget 4G phones covers that end of the market.
