Mirzapur, July 16, 2026: Lal Peda producers in Mirzapur have been offered financial support under the Uttar Pradesh government’s One District One Cuisine programme, aimed at expanding local food-processing enterprises.

The district has around 65 Lal Peda units supporting approximately 400 workers. Eligible entrepreneurs can propose projects valued between ₹25 lakh and ₹5 crore, with assistance linked to the approved project size and applicable scheme norms.

The initiative uses the term One District One Cuisine, or ODOC. It is distinct from the better-known One District One Product programme and is intended specifically to promote a district’s recognised culinary speciality.

Applicants will need to meet the programme’s eligibility, project-report and departmental scrutiny requirements. Producers have been advised to seek the current application and subsidy details from the responsible district industries authorities before committing expenditure.
