MCC Round-2 newly added, clear, virtual seats

Round-2 choice filling for NEET-UG 2026 now sits against three Medical Counselling Committee matrix PDFs posted on the Current Events UG track around 3 September 2026. All three share the Excel title Neet-UG-R2-Seat-Matrix-2026.xlsx on the local copies. They are not the same list. One is newly added seats. One is clear vacancy. One is virtual vacancy. Each is labelled for MBBS, BDS and B.Sc Nursing under UG Counselling 2026.

CreationDates on the three files are close together on 3 September: newly added at 11:49:54 UTC (17:19 IST), clear vacancy at 11:52:42 UTC (17:22 IST), virtual vacancy at 12:03:10 UTC (17:33 IST). Page counts differ sharply: newly added is 6 pages; clear vacancy is 190 pages; virtual vacancy is 261 pages. Those page counts describe the artefacts. They are not a published statewide seat census, and no statewide total is invented here by summing rows.

How the three files are built

The newly added seats PDF opens with the banner NEWLY ADDED SEATS ROUND 2 (MBBS BDS B.SC NURSING) – UG COUNSELLING 2026. Column headers on the extract are StateName, InstituteType, Institute, Quota, Branch, Category, TotalSeats and SeatGender. Early rows show Arunachal Pradesh entries for Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences, Naharlagun, under All India quota MBBS with category codes such as BC NO, EW NO, OP NO, OP PH, SC NO, SC PH, ST NO and ST PH. Assam appears with Bongaigaon Medical College All India MBBS rows. Delhi B.Sc Nursing NEET UG rows appear for College of Nursing Florence Nightingale CON, New Delhi, under B.Sc Nursing Delhi NCR quota, with SeatGender marked Female Only on those nursing lines. Other states visible in the six-page file include Gujarat, Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, with a mix of MBBS, BDS and B.Sc Nursing branches. Quote the structure; do not treat a hand count of category lines as an official total.

The clear vacancy PDF is titled CLEAR VACANCY ROUND 2 (MBBS BDS B.SC NURSING) – UG COUNSELLING 2026 and runs to 190 pages. Headers on the extract are StateName, InstituteType, Institute, Quota, Branch, Category and TotalSeats. There is no SeatGender column on that extract. Page 1 opens with Andaman And Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences, Port Blair, All India MBBS category rows, then moves into Andhra Pradesh colleges including ACSR Government Medical College and Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam, with MBBS and BDS lines as printed.

The virtual vacancy PDF is titled VIRTUAL VACANCY ROUND 2 (MBBS BDS B.SC NURSING) – UG COUNSELLING 2026 and runs to 261 pages. Headers match the clear-vacancy set on the extract: StateName, InstituteType, Institute, Quota, Branch, Category and TotalSeats. Page 1 again opens at Port Blair All India MBBS rows, then Andhra Pradesh ACSR and Andhra Medical College lines with their own TotalSeats figures. Clear and virtual are parallel tabulations, not interchangeable labels.

How to use them without inventing a census

Use newly added when you need seats that MCC has flagged as fresh to the Round-2 matrix in this short six-page dump. Use clear vacancy and virtual vacancy when you are reading the wider Round-2 vacancy picture institute by institute and category by category. Match StateName, Institute code in the address line, Quota, Branch and Category before you trust a TotalSeats cell. SeatGender appears on the newly added extract; check that column for nursing and other gender-restricted rows.

These matrices are distinct from Notice 19 dated 05.09.2026, which added Bagalkote, Chapra and Samastipur AIQ MBBS seats and paused choice filling until after 7:00 pm that day. They are also distinct from the AIQ-State Round-2 schedule PDF dated 02.09.2026. Schedule times the windows. Matrices show seat rows. Notice 19 adds a short institute list mid-window.
