MCC Notice 17: FLOAT resign, no forfeit

The Medical Counselling Committee has told Round-1 FLOAT candidates in UG Counselling 2026 that they may resign or withdraw an already joined Round-1 seat through a short online window, and that a resignation completed inside that window will not forfeit the security deposit. The facility is only for FLOAT candidates who had earlier accepted a Round-1 seat allotted through MCC counselling and who now want to resign or withdraw from that seat. It is not a new registration drive, not a Round-2 choice-filling window, and not the earlier FLOAT document-upload clock dated 29.08.2026. Candidates should read Notice 17 as a resignation and seat-withdrawal track with two hard stamps and one mandatory online slip.

Resign window, no-forfeit rule and who it covers

Resignation and Seat Withdrawal for these Round-1 FLOAT joiners opened from 03:30 P.M. of 31.08.2026 up to 01:00 P.M. of 02.09.2026. That is the full window printed in Notice 17. Outside those hours the notice does not promise the same no-forfeit treatment. Inside the window, the resignation given within the stipulated time will be without Forfeiture of Security Deposit. That sentence is the financial core of the file: a timely online resign does not cost the security deposit under this notice.

Coverage is narrow. The opening line speaks to FLOAT candidates who accepted a Round-1 MCC allotment and later want out. Freeze candidates, Round-2 choice fillers, and candidates who never joined a Round-1 seat are not the audience of this one-page order. If your portal status is not FLOAT Round-1 joined, do not treat Notice 17 as your exit path. Match your login status to the FLOAT Round-1 joined description before you start a withdrawal click.

The window closed at 01:00 P.M. on 02.09.2026 on the notice calendar. Seat Withdrawal slip online or resignation is null

Candidates are advised to ensure that they Resign / Withdraw their Round-1 seat by logging into their account and generate Seat Withdrawal slip online, failing which the resignation will be treated as Null & Void. That is the compliance line. A verbal exit, an email to the college, or a campus walk-out without the portal slip does not finish the resignation under this notice. The account login and the generated Seat Withdrawal slip are the proof path MCC names.

Generate the slip inside the printed hours. Keep a download or screenshot of the slip with the timestamp visible. If the portal later asks for the withdrawal record, the slip is what Notice 17 treats as the completed resign. Without that slip, the same notice says the resignation is Null & Void even if the candidate believes they left the seat.

How this differs from other MCC Round-1 and Round-2 clocks

Keep Notice 17 separate from the 29.08.2026 FLOAT document-upload and institute confirm-or-cancel clock. That earlier file timed willingness, uploads, institute queries and a 01.09.2026 status check for FLOAT joiners who were still holding the seat. Notice 17 is the later resign track for FLOAT candidates who decided to leave the Round-1 joined seat, with a no-forfeit promise if the Seat Withdrawal slip is generated in time.
