Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith to Introduce AI Course from 2026–27 Session in Varanasi

Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith in Varanasi is moving towards adopting Artificial Intelligence (AI) in academics and administration. Vice-Chancellor Anand Kumar Tyagi announced that from the 2026–27 academic session, a new undergraduate course titled “Education to AI” will be introduced.
The announcement was made during an online meeting held under the directions of Anandiben Patel. The meeting was chaired by Pankaj L Jani and attended by vice-chancellors and directors from various institutions across the state.
The Vice-Chancellor stated that AI is already being used in the preparation of examination question papers. This technology helps ensure better quality, balance, and reliability of the papers. In addition, AI tools are being implemented in official work and communication to improve efficiency and transparency.
The university also plans to gradually integrate AI into all smart classrooms to make the teaching process more modern and effective. These steps are part of a broader effort to align with the guidelines discussed during the Governor’s “Atma Manthan” meeting.
