NEW DELHI: Lumio, the Indian projector brand, has a new version of its best-known projector on sale. The Lumio Arc 7 (2026) is listed at Rs 32,999 on the company's own store against a stated price of Rs 64,999 (price as of 8 October 2026, 1:35 AM IST). The company says it is brighter, can throw a bigger picture and comes with a built-in AI assistant for finding something to watch.
The older Arc 7 is still on sale on the same store at Rs 31,499, and the entry-level Arc 5 is Rs 18,499. That makes the choice between the old and new Arc 7 a question of whether the upgrades are worth Rs 1,500.
What is new
According to Lumio's Arc 7 (2026) store page, the projector is rated at 500 ANSI lumens, up from 400 on the older Arc 7, and keeps Full HD 1080p resolution. Lumio says its new ArcLight Engine 2 uses an improved LCD and lens system that makes images 25% brighter than the previous generation and 60% brighter than the Arc 5, while keeping the sealed design that stops dust getting inside.
Picture size goes up to 120 inches, which Lumio says is 20% larger than both the old Arc 7 and the Arc 5, which top out at 100 inches. Storage doubles to 32GB, which helps if you install a lot of streaming apps.
The new software trick is an app called TLDR with an assistant named Now. Lumio says you can send Now the name of a film or show on WhatsApp or Instagram and see it come up on the projector. It runs Google TV, is Netflix certified and supports Google Cast.
Sound and connections
Audio comes from 16W speakers with a tuned passive radiator and Dolby Audio, and the projector can also act as a Bluetooth speaker. Connections include HDMI 2.0 with ARC, 4K downscaling over HDMI, USB 2.0, Bluetooth 5.1 and dual-band Wi-Fi. It ships with Lumio's Minion Noir remote and a one-year warranty on the projector and remote.
Lumio's FAQ says its Arc projectors handle setup automatically through what it calls STR8 features: autofocus, auto keystone correction, screen alignment and obstacle avoidance, which shifts the picture if something is in the way. Lumio notes that obstacle avoidance is off by default.
Lumio also says the Arc range supports wireless mirroring from a phone, tablet or laptop through Google Cast, and that third-party apps can be downloaded for AirPlay from Apple devices. Apps such as Netflix and Prime Video are supported, with access to more than 10,000 apps from the Google Play Store. According to its FAQ, the projectors are sold online through Amazon.in and Lumio's own store.
Old Arc 7, new Arc 7 or Arc 5
For Rs 1,500 more than the old Arc 7, the 2026 model adds 100 lumens, 20 more inches of picture, twice the storage and the TLDR assistant. Brightness is the upgrade that matters most for Indian living rooms, where it is hard to block out daylight fully, so the new model is the better buy if the price gap stays this small.
The Arc 5 at Rs 18,499 is rated at 200 ANSI lumens, and Lumio itself says it works best in dimly lit rooms. It makes sense for a bedroom with curtains, not a bright hall.
One practical tip applies to all three. Brightness ratings are measured in ideal conditions, and a 120-inch picture spreads the same light over a much bigger area than an 80-inch one. If your room gets evening light, a smaller picture on a plain light wall will look better than stretching to the maximum size the spec sheet allows.
