Lava Virat Curve 5G goes on Flipkart from Rs 19,999

NOIDA: Lava International has launched the Virat Curve 5G, a Made-in-India mid-range phone built around a 6.67-inch 3D curved AMOLED display, a rear mini screen and a vegan-leather finish, with Flipkart sales opening on 28 September 2026 at 7 pm.

The company prices the single 6 GB + 128 GB configuration at Rs 23,999 and is advertising a special launch offer of Rs 19,999. Colours are Heritage Indigo, Makrana Ivory and Ellora Slate.

Lava's product page and launch statement list a MediaTek Dimensity 7100 processor on a 6 nm process, claiming an AnTuTu score above 800,000 in company testing, plus up to 6 GB of virtual RAM on top of the 6 GB LPDDR5.

Display, rear mini screen and camera

The FHD+ curved AMOLED runs at 120Hz with peak brightness listed at 1,100 nits, 800 nits in high brightness mode, 100 per cent DCI-P3 coverage and 1,920Hz PWM dimming. The rear mini display is meant for notifications, custom text or emoji, clock, battery and volume without unlocking the phone.

Imaging uses a 50 MP Sony IMX752 rear sensor with EIS and 2K video at 30 fps, plus a 13 MP front camera with screen flash. Modes listed include night, portrait, dual-view video, motion photo and sports. Battery capacity is 6,000 mAh with 45W charging support and a 33W charger in the box. Lava quotes up to 660 minutes of YouTube playback, 55 hours of talk time and 720 hours of standby under its test conditions.

Software, durability and after-sales

The phone ships on clean Android 16 without bloatware ads, with two years of OS upgrades and three years of security updates promised. Lava says a new UI, refined Vayu AI and a native gallery app will arrive later through a software maintenance release. Dual stereo speakers, dual microphones, an IR blaster, in-display fingerprint and face unlock round out the feature list.

Durability claims include MIL-STD-810H certification, IP64 dust and water resistance and Al-Si DT Star 2 cover glass under Lava's IronGuard branding. Free Service at Home remains part of the pitch. Sumit Singh, Lava's senior vice president and head of product, said the curved display, leather back, rear screen and Vayu AI are meant to bring a more premium feel into the roughly Rs 20,000 band for tech enthusiasts.

Lava is pitching Virat Curve as designed, envisioned and developed in India, with Free Service at Home as a differentiator against imported mid-rangers that rely on store walk-ins. The Rs 4,000 gap between MRP and launch offer will matter on Flipkart at 7 pm on 28 September; shoppers should read whether the Rs 19,999 tag is bank-offer contingent or a straight listing price when the product page goes live.
