KNRUHS cancels ST MBBS seats of nine candidates after Tribal Welfare list

WARANGAL: Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences has cancelled the MBBS seats allotted conditionally to nine candidates under the Scheduled Tribe category and placed 37 aspirants outside ST reservation for Competent Authority Quota admissions in 2026-27. The notice is dated 26 September and follows a communication from the Director, Tribal Welfare, Telangana, Hyderabad (Rc.No.1298/TRI/TSV/2026, dated 22 September 2026).

The university says the further list names 37 candidates who are not eligible to claim ST reservation benefits of Telangana State for MBBS and BDS admissions. Those candidates will not be considered under ST for CQ counselling and will be treated under the Open category, subject to their overall eligibility and merit.

Nine seats cancelled from Phase 1 and 2

Of the 37, nine had already been allotted MBBS seats conditionally in the First and Second Phases. Their colleges include Government Medical College, Vikarabad; RVM Institute of Medical Sciences, Siddipet; ESIC Medical College, Hyderabad; Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad; Raja Rajeshwari Medical College for Girls, Patancheru; NOVA Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad; Government Medical College, Karimnagar; and TRR Institute of Medical Sciences, Patancheru.

Those nine allotments stand cancelled. The candidates will be treated as Open category for later phases. The seats so vacated are to be treated as vacant and included in the Third Phase or Mop-Up Phase for allotment to eligible candidates under the ST category as per rules and merit.

What aspirants should check now

The notice continues earlier university communication dated 3 September that also rested on Tribal Welfare advice. Candidates on the list, and colleges that admitted them conditionally, are expected to follow the revised status for reporting and later choice rounds. Families watching ST cut-offs in Phase 3 should refresh vacancy data once the cancelled seats are added back to the matrix.
