Kerala MDS Round 2 option confirmation closes at 2 pm on 23 September

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Postgraduate dental candidates in Kerala have a hard stop today for Round 2 option work. The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations has opened facility for online option confirmation, deletion and rearrangement for the second phase of MDS 2026 centralised allotment. The facility on www.cee.kerala.gov.in remains available only till 2:00 pm on 23 September 2026.

Candidates in the State rank list should open the PG Dental 2026 candidate portal, enter the home page, and use the Confirm button before rearranging or deleting higher-order options. Round 2 does not allow fresh option registration. Only confirmation, deletion or rearrangement of existing options is permitted. Option confirmation is compulsory to participate in Round 2.

Rules for Round 1 joiners and non-allottees

If a candidate joined a Round 1 seat, higher options are retained and options listed below the allotted seat are deleted automatically so that Round 2 can only upgrade or retain the same seat. A Round 1 joiner who does not confirm options will not be considered for upgradation, but the Round 1 seat stays. Candidates who want no upgrade may simply skip confirmation or delete all options.

Candidates who received no Round 1 allotment must still confirm online if they want Round 2 consideration. Those who do not confirm will be left out of the second phase for their existing options. If a Round 2 seat is allotted and the candidate does not report, does not join, or quits after joining, the option registration fee is forfeited.

Service quota and later rounds

The notification said the service quota rank list would be published on 19 September 2026, after which service quota candidates could register options. Allotted Round 1 candidates who never joined, and those who quit after joining, lose the present allotment and higher options and will not be considered in Round 2. Their registration fee is treated as penalty.

Fresh option registration returns only in the third and final round, with a fresh fee linked to annual tuition for government seats or Rs 1,00,000 if private self-financing seats are also opted, with half rates for eligible fee-concession categories. For today, the only action that matters is confirming or editing existing options before 2:00 pm. Open the candidate portal now if Round 2 participation is still required.

Dental colleges preparing for Round 2 should remind joined Round 1 students that silence on the portal means no upgradation, not automatic loss of the current seat. Candidates who want a higher speciality must click Confirm and keep the preferred higher options alive before 2:00 pm. After the cut-off, CEE will process Round 2 only for confirmed option sets.

Keep application number and password ready; portal congestion is common near noon deadlines. After confirming, take a screenshot of the confirmation status for personal records. Helpline numbers in the notice remain 0471-2332120 and 2338487 for genuine portal errors.
