KEA Releases Karnataka UGCET Round 2 Provisional Seat Allotment

The Karnataka Examinations Authority has released the UGCET 2026 second-round provisional seat allotment, allowing candidates to see the college and course currently assigned to them before KEA prepares the final result.

The result was published on August 23. Candidates can use the official result facility by entering their CET number and should save a copy of the displayed outcome for their records. KEA has also placed course-wise provisional cut-off documents on its UGCET page.

The most important qualification is in the title itself: this allotment is provisional. KEA has explicitly told candidates not to report to a provisionally allotted college at this stage. The authority will first consider eligible objections and then declare the final second-round allotment.

What the provisional result covers

UGCET counselling covers several professional undergraduate streams administered through KEA. The official page carries cut-off documents for engineering, architecture, BPharm, PharmD, farm sciences, veterinary science, nursing, physiotherapy and allied health courses, with separate files where applicable for general, Kalyana Karnataka and special categories.

An individual candidate’s outcome depends on merit, eligibility, category, the options entered during the permitted window and the seats available when the allotment system is run. A high-level vacancy or cut-off figure does not by itself establish that a particular candidate was entitled to a seat.

Candidates should compare the provisional result with their saved option-entry record. They should check the CET number, allotted course, institute, category and any status shown on the result page. A downloaded or printed copy will be useful if a genuine discrepancy has to be raised before the deadline.

The provisional cut-offs can help candidates understand how the allocation was reached. They should use the file for the correct course and category rather than compare their rank with a general cut-off taken from a social-media post.

Objections close at 4 pm on August 24

KEA has set a short window for specific objections. A candidate who believes the published cut-off was met and that valid options were entered, but still received no allotment, may email an objection with supporting justification to the authority by 4 pm on August 24, 2026.

The notice also sets clear limits. A candidate cannot object merely because no option was entered for the desired college or course. KEA will not permit changes to the option list at this stage. The objection process is meant to identify a possible allotment error, not to reopen choice filling or create a fresh preference order.

An email sent to keauthority-ka@nic.in should identify the candidate accurately and explain the issue in a concise, verifiable way. Relevant proof could include the saved option-entry record and the applicable published cut-off. Candidates should retain a copy of the email and attachments, but avoid sending repeated or unsupported messages.

What candidates should do next

No admission action should be taken solely on the strength of the provisional display. Candidates should not visit the college for reporting, hand over original certificates or make a college-level payment unless KEA subsequently directs them to do so after the final allotment.

The authority has said the final result will be declared after objections have been verified. Its August 23 notice does not give a precise publication time for that final result, so candidates should watch the official KEA website instead of relying on forwarded screenshots or unofficial countdowns.

Once the final allotment is available, candidates must read the accompanying instructions before choosing or exercising any permitted post-allotment action. The applicable fee-payment, admission-order and reporting requirements should be followed exactly as KEA publishes them.

For now, the practical task is narrow: check the provisional result, compare it with the correct cut-off and saved choices, raise only a supported objection before 4 pm on August 24, and wait for the final allotment before approaching a college.
