JEECUP Additional Counselling Round 6 choice filling closes 23 August; seat allotment on 24 August

Choice filling for JEECUP Additional Counselling Round 6 ends today. Non-admitted candidates who qualified UPJEE (Polytechnic)-2026 — from Uttar Pradesh and from other states — have until 23 August 2026 to lock institution and branch preferences on the official portal before seat allotment on 24 August.
The dates come from the Online (3rd Phase) Additional Counselling Schedule for the 6th and 7th rounds, issued for Groups A, B, C, D, F, G, H, I, K1–K8 and L. The Joint Entrance Examination Council, Uttar Pradesh, is running these extra rounds for qualified candidates who still do not hold an admission. The jeecup.admissions.nic.in homepage already flags Round 6 choice filling as the live candidate activity.
Round 6 dates after today’s cut-off
Seat allotment for Round 6 is listed for 24 August 2026. Candidates who receive a seat must use the Freeze option and deposit the security plus counselling fee online through their login between 25 and 28 August. The schedule states that no Float option is available in this additional counselling phase — every allotment that a candidate keeps must be frozen.
Document verification for Freeze candidates is at district help centres from 25 to 29 August, up to 6:00 PM. Verification is not held on public holidays. Seat withdrawal for Round 6 is on 30 August. The last date for reporting to the allotted institute (PI reporting) is 31 August 2026.
Round 7 follows immediately: choice filling 31 August–2 September, allotment 3 September, fee deposit 4–7 September (candidates are auto-freezed in Round 7), help-centre verification 5–8 September to 6:00 PM, withdrawal 9 September, and PI reporting by 10 September.
Freeze, fee and the ₹3,250 rule
After allotment, Freeze is mandatory. Candidates pay ₹3,250 online (seat acceptance fee plus counselling fee) and then complete document verification at a district help centre by the listed dates, unless they already finished verification in Rounds 1–5. Those earlier-verified candidates can, after paying ₹3,250, download the provisional admission letter and report to the institute without a fresh help-centre visit.
Failure to pay or to complete required verification cancels the allotted seat. The schedule warns that such candidates will not stay eligible for further counselling in this additional phase, and the ₹3,250 is not refunded or adjusted. Candidates who freeze in Round 6 but miss fee or verification also lose Round 7 eligibility under the published notes.
On withdrawal within the permitted window, ₹3,000 of the seat acceptance fee is refunded to the bank account the candidate enters at withdrawal time. Enter those account details carefully; the council puts the accuracy burden on the candidate.
What to finish before the portal closes today
Log in at https://jeecup.admissions.nic.in with application ID and password. Enter or reorder choices for institutes and branches, then save before the 23 August window ends. Prefer a longer, realistic preference list over a short list of only top colleges — Round 6 is an additional round for non-admitted candidates, and vacant seats can sit outside first-choice campuses.
Use the official forget-password path if the login fails; do not wait for a forwarded PDF of someone else’s choices. After Monday’s allotment, return to the same login for Freeze, fee payment and the provisional letter.
As of Sunday, 23 August 2026, the actionable deadline is choice filling. Allotment follows on Monday, 24 August. Candidates who skip today’s lock-in will not appear in the Round 6 allotment file under this published schedule.
