JCECEB further extends Jharkhand NEET Round 1 counselling; registration open till 25 August

Registration for Jharkhand’s Round 1 MBBS and BDS counselling now runs till 25 August 2026. The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board said so in Advt. No. JCECEB/46/26-66, a press communique that pushes the Round 1 calendar again after the Medical Counselling Committee’s direction of 19 August 2026.
Allotment letters may be downloaded from 27 August to 5 September. Document verification and admission at the allotted institute run from 28 August to 5 September. Online registration, choice filling and editing of filled choices continue together through 25 August.
The notice modifies earlier advertisements — JCECEB/46/26-47, JCECEB/46/26-52, JCECEB/46/26-53 and JCECEB/46/26-60. Anyone still working off those older PDFs is on the wrong calendar.
State quota, named AIQ private colleges, and the new dates
For state-quota MBBS and BDS seats, the updated notified dates are: last date for online registration and choice filling — 25 August 2026; seat allotment and provisional allotment-letter download — 27 August to 5 September; documents verification and admission — 28 August to 5 September.
The same stretch of dates applies, under the communique, to All India seats in named private medical colleges — Laxmi Chandravansi Medical College & Hospital, Palamu; Netaji Subhas Medical College and Hospital, Seraikela-Kharsawan; Sido Kanhu Medical College & Hospital, Dumka; and Birsa Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, Khunti — and to All India BDS seats at Vananchal Dental College and Hospital, Garhwa. Candidates allotted in those streams follow the revised reporting window, not the pre-extension one.
Missing the 5 September end of verification and admission can put an allotted seat at risk under the board’s rules. Download the letter when it goes live on 27 August; a screenshot alone may not satisfy institute checks.
RIMS Ranchi disability certificates; BHMS seats still pending
The Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare Department, Government of Jharkhand, vide Letter No. 09/Namankan-02-01/2023-507(9) dated 20 August 2026, has authorised Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Ranchi, to issue disability certificates for MBBS, BDS and BHMS admissions from the 2026–27 session. Candidates who need a disability certificate should plan the RIMS assessment in time for verification between 28 August and 5 September.
BHMS seat details have not yet been received from the department. Until JCECEB publishes those particulars, Homoeopathy aspirants should not assume the MBBS/BDS Round 1 dates automatically cover BHMS. The board says it will send recommendations on the NEET (UG)-based State Merit List once seat details arrive.
Revised schedules for the 2nd, 3rd and stray vacancy rounds will follow MCC directions for state counselling, the communique notes. Other terms and conditions from the earlier advertisements remain the same except where Advt. 66 changes them.
What to do before 25 August
Log in at jceceb.jharkhand.gov.in. Finish registration and choice filling, or edit locked preferences if the portal still allows, by 25 August. Keep originals ready for 28 August onwards. Re-read Advt. No. JCECEB/46/26-66 so travel plans match the modified advertisement numbers, not the 6 August or 19 August circulars.
Coaching centres and college notice boards still showing the pre-extension schedule should be updated against the board PDF. JCECEB has not, on the facts available here, rewritten Round 1 eligibility; it has shifted the operational calendar because of MCC’s 19 August direction.
As of Saturday, 22 August 2026, the live deadlines are registration and choice work till 25 August, allotment-letter download from 27 August to 5 September, and verification-admission from 28 August to 5 September. RIMS Ranchi is the authorised disability-certificate centre. BHMS seats remain pending. Download the Advt. 66 communique from the board site and match it against the modified advertisement numbers before you travel.
