IIT-BHU has listed four laboratory-related equipment tenders for its Civil and Mining Engineering departments, with submission deadlines running from October 19 to November 3. The notices cover a computing server, a pneumatic cyclic triaxial testing system, a hydro-environmental laboratory package and strata-control instruments.
The institute’s tender index records uploads between October 12 and 14. Those upload dates are not the dates on which every bid was issued: the underlying documents range from September 28 to October 13. These are invitations to bid, with no successful supplier or completed equipment installation announced in the documents.
Civil Engineering bids have different closing dates
The newest bid document, dated October 13, seeks one pneumatic cyclic triaxial testing system under GEM/2026/B/8153186. It closes at 1 pm on November 3, with opening scheduled for the same time on November 4. The estimated bid value is Rs 30 lakh, while the earnest-money deposit is Rs 60,000. An estimate is not a contract award or a final purchase price.
The document sets three years of relevant experience and a minimum average annual bidder turnover of Rs 15 lakh. It provides complete experience-and-turnover relaxation for eligible micro and small enterprises, but no startup relaxation under that field. The delivery schedule is 60 days. After an award, detailed design drawings must reach the buyer for approval within five days, and the buyer has five days to approve them or list required changes.
The high-performance computing tower server with GPU has the nearest closing date, October 19 at 8 pm, followed by opening at 8 pm on October 20. Its September 28 document, GEM/2026/B/8092288, specifies one unit for Civil Engineering and a 21-day delivery period. The bidder-turnover threshold is Rs 15 lakh, while the original equipment manufacturer’s average turnover threshold is Rs 1 crore.
The server tender requires three years of relevant supply experience, a Rs 60,000 earnest-money deposit and a performance bank guarantee of 3 per cent. For imported products, the manufacturer or its authorised seller must have an office in India for after-sales support. Eligible MSEs receive turnover relaxation; the document does not extend its startup experience-and-turnover relaxation. Offers must remain valid for 180 days from the closing date.
Mining purchases carry separate conditions
The hydro-environmental drainage, waste and resource-recovery laboratory tender, GEM/2026/B/8128619, is dated October 8. It closes at 7 pm on October 29, with opening scheduled for 7 pm on October 30. The document specifies one laboratory package, a 60-day delivery period, Rs 58,000 in earnest money and a 3 per cent performance bank guarantee, required for 14 months. The supply scope includes installation, testing and commissioning.
This bid sets a Rs 14 lakh average annual bidder-turnover threshold and one year of relevant experience. For this laboratory package, it provides complete relaxation of experience and turnover for eligible startups as well as MSEs. Supporting documents are required to claim an exemption. The buyer also warns that missing certificates or documents sought in the bid, additional conditions or a corrigendum can lead to rejection.
The strata-control instruments document is dated October 9 and carries bid number GEM/2026/B/8137862. Suppliers should use that number: the institute index displays a different reference beside the description. The PDF sets an October 30 deadline at 5 pm and opening at 5 pm on October 31. It specifies one unit for Mining Engineering, with delivery in 45 days, and marks both earnest money and the performance bank guarantee as not required.
Its baseline conditions include two years of relevant experience, average annual bidder turnover of Rs 4 lakh and manufacturer turnover of Rs 32 lakh. The relaxation fields cover turnover for eligible MSEs and startups. The scope also includes installation, testing, commissioning and operator training. Offered products must have at least seven years of remaining market life, according to the buyer’s conditions.
Each tender permits automatic extensions if fewer than three bids arrive. Strata-control allows one five-day extension; the laboratory and triaxial bids allow one three-day extension, and the server allows two. Suppliers should recheck GeM before submitting.
For other current institute activity, Dalimss News has reported Clean Rivers laboratory recruitment and IIT-BHU’s highway-research agreement with NHIDCL. Those are separate announcements from these equipment purchases.
