IIT-BHU Advances 15th Convocation to October 31; Over 1,700 to Graduate

VARANASI: IIT-BHU will hold its 15th convocation on October 31, moving the ceremony forward by nearly a week from the November 6 date that had appeared in the institute's academic calendar.

The revised date was announced on Monday, according to Live Hindustan's Varanasi bureau. More than 1,700 students completing undergraduate, postgraduate, integrated dual-degree and PhD programmes are expected to receive degrees this year. Institute teams have begun finalising the graduate list as well as the names of medal and prize recipients.

For students and families, a six-day change may look modest on paper but it affects a considerable amount of planning. Travel to Varanasi becomes expensive around major festivals and academic events, while hotel rooms near the BHU campus fill quickly.
