NEW DELHI: Honda Cars India has opened pre-launch bookings for the New Honda Elevate at all its authorised dealerships, ahead of a launch the company has fixed for Tuesday, 6 October. The booking amount is Rs 21,000, according to a press release issued on 1 October.
Honda says India is the first market in the world to get the New Elevate. The company has not yet published prices, variants, engine details or a feature list for the updated SUV, so anyone paying the booking amount now is doing so without a price sheet.
What Honda has confirmed
The release is short on specifications. It confirms that bookings are open across the country through dealerships, that the amount is Rs 21,000, and that the launch is scheduled for 6 October.
The only description of the product comes from Kunal Behl, Vice President, Marketing and Sales at Honda Cars India. He said the New Elevate brings "several strongly desired features and enhancements, along with a bolder design and more premium cabin experience". He added: "India is the lead market for the Elevate, and we are proud to introduce the New Elevate first in India."
Behl also linked the timing to the calendar. Honda is opening bookings "ahead of the festive season", he said, so that customers can have "an even more compelling Honda SUV" for their celebrations.
Where the current Elevate stands
Honda's website currently lists the existing Elevate with a starting price of Rs 11,80,700, shown with an asterisk. Honda has not said how the New Elevate will be priced against it, so that figure is only a reference point and not a forecast.
The Elevate is one of three Honda cars that the company describes as made in India, along with the Amaze and the City. Honda's manufacturing facility is at Tapukara in Alwar district, Rajasthan. The ZR-V, a global SUV, is sold in India as a completely built unit imported from Japan.
The sales backdrop
The new SUV arrives while Honda's domestic numbers are improving. In its 1 September sales release, the company reported total sales of 7,508 units for August 2026, made up of 5,385 cars in India and 2,123 exports. In August 2025 it had sold 3,850 cars domestically and 2,924 for export.
That is domestic growth of about 40 per cent, which matches Honda's own figure. Exports fell by roughly 27 per cent. On Dalimss's arithmetic from the same figures, total sales were up about 11 per cent over the 6,774 units of a year earlier.
Behl credited August to festive demand that began with Onam and to a good response to the New City and the ZR-V. He did not name the Elevate. Honda's press page did not carry September sales figures at the time of writing.
What buyers should check
The release does not say whether the Rs 21,000 is refundable or adjustable against the final invoice. Buyers should ask the dealer for those terms in writing before paying. Honda has also not said when deliveries of the New Elevate will begin.
Separately, Honda Motor Co. announced in July that Toshiyuki Yanagisawa would take over as President and CEO of Honda Cars India from 1 October, the same day the bookings opened. Prices, variants and specifications should follow when the New Elevate is launched on 6 October.
