Varanasi: In a major step toward improving emergency healthcare infrastructure, a proposal to set up a hi-tech trauma center at Harahua has been finalized and will soon be sent to the Uttar Pradesh government for approval. The center is planned to strengthen medical response along the busy Varanasi–Jaunpur highway and the Ring Road, where heavy traffic and frequent accidents remain a serious concern.

Official data shows that Ring Road–linked areas, including Juthi Sahko, witnessed over 261 road accidents in the past year. Currently, victims often lose critical time being transported to city hospitals, affecting survival during the vital “golden hour.” The proposed trauma facility aims to deliver immediate advanced care with modern emergency equipment, trained medical teams, and rapid response systems.

Once operational, the center is expected to significantly reduce fatalities and improve survival rates, offering relief and reassurance to thousands of commuters and residents. The move reflects a proactive push by the administration to strengthen road safety and emergency preparedness in Varanasi.
