Haryana Notifies Tolls on Three GF Road Sections

GURUGRAM: The Haryana government has notified sections of three roads in the Gurugram-Faridabad region as toll-facility roads, with single-trip rates ranging from Rs 40 for cars and three-wheelers to Rs 350 for multi-axle and other heavy vehicles.

The notification, published on 22 September by the Haryana Public Works (Buildings and Roads) Department and detailed in briefings over the weekend, covers sections of the Gurugram-Faridabad road, the Crusher Zone road and the Ballabhgarh-Sohna road. The Gurugram-Faridabad and Crusher Zone roads will have one toll point each, while two toll points have been notified for the Ballabhgarh-Sohna road.

As per the notified rates, cars, jeeps, pickup vans, three-wheelers and station wagons will be charged Rs 40 per trip. Buses, with or without passengers, including school buses, will be charged Rs 170. Light commercial vehicles and low-powered trucks will be charged Rs 140. Multi-axle vehicles with more than 10 tyres and other heavy vehicles such as cranes, dozers, earthmovers and road rollers will be charged Rs 350. Motor trucks with up to 10 tyres will be charged Rs 300. Tractor-trolleys carrying quarry and building material will be charged Rs 80.

Passes and exemptions

Once toll is paid, the vehicle need not pay again within the toll road or while crossing through the same or another plaza on that facility. Re-entry requires a fresh payment at the applicable rate. Users who must cross more than once in a day may pay one-and-a-half times the applicable rate on the first trip. For commercial vehicles, a same-day return can be taken on that 1.5 times payment. The day starts at midnight.

Monthly passes are available at 30 times the single-trip rate for commercial vehicles and 20 times for other vehicles, for a calendar month. Two-wheelers, tractor-trolleys carrying agricultural produce, defence vehicles, ambulances or funeral vans, police vehicles, firefighting vehicles, local non-commercial traffic in the vicinity of the toll road, and non-commercial vehicles owned by the Centre, states and Haryana government undertakings are exempt under Section 13 of the Haryana Mechanical Vehicles (Levy of Tolls) Act, 1996.

For daily office and school runs between Gurugram and Faridabad, the Rs 40 car rate and the monthly pass maths will decide whether households buy a pass or pay per trip. Quarry and construction traffic on the Crusher Zone and Ballabhgarh-Sohna sections faces the Rs 80 trolley rate and the higher truck slabs. The notification sets the tariff frame; field rollout of plazas and collection systems will decide when those rates actually appear at the roadside.
