GURUGRAM: The District Red Cross Society and ALIMCO distributed assistive devices to 59 people with disabilities on Friday, 16 October, with support from Engineers India Limited. The Haryana government release valued the equipment at approximately Rs 39.99 lakh.
Recipients had been identified in September. The equipment included motorised tricycles, motorised wheelchairs, hearing aids and artificial limbs, supplied according to individual needs. The release also identified a continuing support point: a Divyansha centre established with ALIMCO at the Red Cross premises, where devices are provided regularly.
The announcement concerns equipment already distributed, rather than a new application window. It does not give the next assessment date, centre opening hours or a deadline for fresh requests. People seeking assistance should confirm those arrangements before travelling.
Where Gurugram residents can ask for help
The society's official contact page lists Red Cross Bhavan at Chandan Nagar, behind the ITI on Mehrauli Road, Gurugram 122001. The published office number is 0124-2320468. A first enquiry can establish whether the visit is for a new assessment, collection of an approved device or help with equipment already received. Ask which desk handles the request and whether an appointment is needed.
ALIMCO's information guide also directs prospective beneficiaries to district social-welfare officers, its centres and the ARJUN portal. Its toll-free number is 1800-180-5129. The guide lists disability documentation, Aadhaar and income proof among documents used for assistance under ADIP. These are general scheme requirements; the implementing agency must confirm the applicable route and eligibility for a fresh request.
The official explanation of ARJUN says the portal supports online registration and maintains beneficiary records for the ADIP and Rashtriya Vayoshri schemes, including checks against repeated provision of aids. Registration should therefore be treated as the start of an application, not a device-allocation confirmation. Applicants should retain the reference generated and ask the responsible centre what assessment or verification remains.
The distinction between an assessment and distribution matters. ALIMCO describes customised services including fitted artificial limbs and hearing-aid fittings based on audiometry. Its guide says camp distributions take place when dates are finalised by the district administration and ALIMCO. A resident should ask for the assessment arrangements relevant to their requirement rather than assume that every device shown at a distribution camp is available for immediate collection.
Disability certificates and support after distribution
For residents who need a disability certificate or Unique Disability ID, the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities publishes a separate UDID application guide. Applications go through the official Swavlamban portal. The guide lists a photograph, signature or thumbprint, identity proof and relevant medical records. It also identifies the designated hospital as the place to obtain offline assistance and says the application carries no fee.
After applying, the department asks applicants to contact their chosen hospital's UDID cell for a medical-assessment date and attend the scheduled assessment. The hospital verifies documents, conducts the assessment and issues the certificate through the online system. Application status can be checked through the portal's tracking facility. Completing this certification process is separate from receiving a particular assistive device under a scheme or distribution programme.
People who have already received ALIMCO equipment also have a published support channel. The corporation's after-sales information identifies the free ALIMCO MITRA Android app and its grievance-system feature for beneficiaries facing problems with supplied aids. The same website provides a centre finder using location filters. Use the official website's app link and centre information when seeking support, rather than relying on an unverified download or a forwarded contact.
ALIMCO's guide says repair or replacement requests can be raised through customer care, authorised service and repair agencies, or the MITRA app. Keep the device and distribution details available when asking where it can be examined. Reporting a fault is a service request; the published guidance does not establish that every repair or replacement will be approved without further checks.
Dalimss News has separately covered Haryana Roadways travel concessions and an earlier Vayoshri distribution for Delhi-NCR seniors. Those are distinct benefits and events. A transport concession, disability certificate and equipment application each require their own applicable checks.
