Gujarat NEET UG Round 1 choice filling closes 27 August at 1:00 PM

Gujarat’s Round 1 choice-filling window for MBBS and BDS shuts at 1:00 PM on Thursday, 27 August. The Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Education Courses, in its advertisement for the first round of online choice filling, puts the display of filled choices at 4:00 PM the same afternoon. There is no Round 1 allotment date on the committee homepage this morning.

The advertisement, posted with the rest of the Round 1 pack on 23 August at 3:00 PM, covers eligible candidates on the ACPUGMEC merit list seeking Government, Management and NRI seats in government, grant-in-aid and self-financed medical and dental colleges for 2026–27. Choice filling opened on 24 August. The committee’s homepage still headed that pack on 27 August morning.

ACPUGMEC states that the entire process for 100 per cent of Gujarat’s undergraduate medical and dental seats — Government Quota, Management Quota and NRI Quota — runs online, on merit, only through the committee. Sanctioned seats and tuition-fee information sit on https://www.medadmgujarat.org/ug/home.aspx. PIN purchase and registration were earlier steps; this Thursday window is choice filling for those already on the merit list.

What closes at 1 pm, what appears at 4 pm

Log in on medadmgujarat.org, arrange college and course preferences, and submit before 1:00 PM. After that, the filling window is closed. Filled choices remain visible until 4:00 PM. The advertisement does not print a later unlock-and-edit facility once 1:00 PM has passed. Candidates still arranging a long list at noon are cutting it fine.

The same pack includes guidelines, a screenshot guide, tentative medical and dental seat matrices, State four-round instructions, and college fee details. Use those PDFs, not forwarded WhatsApp tables. The matrices are labelled tentative. This desk is not adding up a seat count from them.

Revised provisional MBBS/BDS merit lists were posted on 23 August at 1:50 PM, after earlier lists on 16 and 20 August. NRI-quota merit for candidates whose documents were still under verification was to be declared “in due course.” Anyone filling choices should confirm they are looking at the latest merit PDF on their own login, not a 16 August screenshot.

Reserved vacancies and vacant NRI seats are a Round 2 story

After reserved-category candidates are admitted against reserved seats, vacant reserved seats transfer to unreserved seats. The committee says that transfer happens in the second round — NRI to Management, and SC, ST, SEBC, EWS to General (Open), PwD to the relevant category. It is not a Round 1 conversion.

If NRI seats remain vacant, ACPUGMEC will fill them as Management quota seats at Management quota fees. GMERS medical colleges and Gujarat Adani Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhuj, do not have Management quota seats but do have NRI seats; vacant NRI seats there convert to Management quota at Management fees. That, too, is not a reason to skip Round 1 choices.

Allotment date is not on the page

As of Thursday morning the committee had not posted a Round 1 allotment date. Do not treat a circulating date as official. Watch medadmgujarat.org after the 4:00 PM display. Candidates already admitted in a previous year who want a fresh course must pay the Fee Regulatory Committee’s full-course fee, obtain a no-objection certificate and original documents, and submit them to the committee — that rule is on the homepage, separate from today’s 1:00 PM close.

This is Gujarat state MBBS/BDS counselling, not MCC All India Quota and not BAMS/BHMS, which the committee says will follow a separate NCISM/NCH schedule.

The hard close is 1:00 PM IST on 27 August 2026. After that, the only official slot left on the advertisement is the 4:00 PM display of whatever was actually filled.
