VARANASI: Preparations for the birth anniversary of Sant Shiromani Shri Guru Ravidas are in full swing at Seer Govardhanpur in Varanasi. Ahead of the main celebration scheduled on February 1, sevadars from Punjab and Haryana have arrived in large numbers to manage arrangements for devotees coming from across the country and abroad.

Large community kitchens have started functioning near the Guru Ravidas temple, where Punjabi sweets and traditional snacks such as boondi and mathri are being prepared by skilled cooks brought specially from Punjab and Haryana. Trucks loaded with grains, oil, ghee, and spices have reached the site, while fresh vegetables have been procured directly from nearby villages, benefiting local farmers as well.

For satsang and religious gatherings, a German hanger pandal is being set up. Security arrangements have been strengthened with around 200 CCTV cameras installed from the temple to the pandal area, along with police deployment and metal detector checks at entry points. Temporary police posts, health camps, and fire brigade vehicles have also been arranged to ensure the safety and convenience of devotees during the grand celebrations.
