VARANASI, INDIA — The ancient, holy city of Kashi is preparing to host a historic spectacle as the Indian Air Force (IAF) presents a grand aerial show over the sacred Ganges River. Scheduled for October 22, 23, and 25, the sky above Varanasi will echo with the thunderous roar of frontline fighter jets and aerobatic displays.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who serves as the Member of Parliament for Varanasi, will attend the final day of the event on October 25 from the iconic Namo Ghat to witness the grand finale.

High-Octane Flying Stunts Between Assi Ghat and Namo Ghat

The aerial corridor stretch spanning from Assi Ghat to Namo Ghat will serve as the primary arena for the mega event. Advanced frontline combat aircraft, including the Rafale and Tejas, will execute high-speed maneuvers, precision formations, and breathtaking aerobatic stunts directly over the riverfront.

Alongside the fighter jets, the IAF’s renowned Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team is set to deliver precision flying formations that promise to leave audiences spellbound.

  • The Event Schedule: The multi-day showcase runs across October 22, 23, and 25, preceded by full-scale rehearsals by the air force.

  • VIP Presence: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be joined by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, state leaders, top military commanders, and over 5,000 VVIP dignitaries on October 25.

  • Massive Public Footfall: An estimated 25 lakh people from across Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and surrounding regions are expected to fill the ghat steps and opposite sandy banks to watch the show.

Inspiring Youth and Boosting Regional Pride

Beyond the display of technological prowess, military officials highlighted that hosting the air show in Kashi aims to inspire the youth across Eastern Uttar Pradesh and neighboring states to pursue careers in the armed forces and serve the nation.

With comprehensive security, traffic management, and crowd control measures being coordinated between the IAF, district administration, and Varanasi Smart City Limited, the October event is set to become one of the most memorable public celebrations in the city's modern history.
