Buried under Saturday's Spot Round circulars on the IP University notice board is a quieter Academic Branch update: the last date to apply online for M.Tech (Industrial Biotechnology) has moved to 11:59 PM on 26 August 2026.

The scanned notification carries F.No. IPU-7/Academic/2026-27/2795 from the Academic Branch at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Dwarka, Sector-16/C, Delhi-110078. The subject line is "IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION REGARDING EXTENSION OF LAST DATE OF SUBMISSION OF ONLINE APPLICATION FORMS." It extends "the last date of submission of online Application Forms" for the listed course up to 11:59 PM on 26.08.2026. The table names the programme as M.TECH (IBT) with Programme Code 151. Stakeholders are asked to watch www.ipu.ac.in and the NIC admissions site regularly. The handwritten date on the scan reads 21 August 2026; the file sits on the 2026 admission notices board uploaded on 22 August.

What the Academic Branch notice says

This is not a blanket extension for every GGSIPU postgraduate form. Only the IBT row appears in the extension table. Candidates eyeing other M.Tech or allied codes — including separate USBT notices for M.Tech (Biotechnology) and M.Tech (Food Processing Technology) — should not assume the same 26 August clock applies unless a separate notice says so.

The notice is signed by Prof. Udayan Ghosh, Director Incharge (Academic), and Dr. Vijay Kumar, Deputy Registrar (Academic), and is copied to NIC for upload on the admissions portal. For desk purposes, the operative deadline is the 11:59 PM IST mark on 26 August 2026. Miss that stamp and the online form for Code 151 closes unless the university posts another extension. An earlier board entry on 23 July 2026 had already flagged the last date for Code 151; Saturday's upload is the fresh extension candidates must use.

Where to apply before 26 August

Online applications run through the university's admissions channel at ipu.admissions.nic.in, with the parent site ipu.ac.in carrying the public notice board under the 2026 admission notices list. Finish the form, fee step and document upload the portal requires — stopping at "saved draft" is how deadlines get missed.

Eligibility, intake and any CET or interview stages for Code 151 belong in the admission brochure and programme pages for the University School of Biotechnology track. This report does not invent seat counts or fee amounts beyond the dated extension itself. If the brochure asks for a particular qualifying degree or GATE/CET path, follow that document, not messaging-group summaries.

Do not mix this with Spot Round notices

The same August notice board also carries withhold and withdrawal circulars for undergraduate Spot Round counselling, plus Spot Round 2 fee-and-reporting schedules uploaded on 22 August. Those documents do not govern M.Tech (IBT) applications. Keep the IBT extension PDF separate from Spot Round 2 and Spot Round 3 files when you share links with classmates.

Industrial Biotechnology is a narrow postgraduate audience compared with the B.Tech and BBA traffic on the same board. That is precisely why the extension is easy to miss. For readers on 23 August 2026, three days remain on the extended clock. Open the NIC admissions login, select M.Tech (IBT) Code 151, and submit before 11:59 PM on 26 August.
