Doctor Injured in Auto Collision Near Satomahua; Police Register Case

A doctor was seriously injured after a collision involving an auto-rickshaw near Satomahua in Varanasi’s Badagaon area, suffering a fracture to his right shoulder and reported internal injuries. Police have registered a case on the doctor’s complaint and begun examining the circumstances of the crash.

The injured man was identified in local reporting as Dr Alafnath. The initial account said an auto-rickshaw struck him near Satomahua, but a full reconstruction—including vehicle positions, speed, visibility and right of way—had not been made public when this report was prepared. The driver’s legal responsibility will depend on evidence gathered by investigators rather than the first description alone.

A shoulder fracture can affect far more than immediate movement. Treatment may involve immobilisation, imaging, follow-up examinations and extended time away from work. For a doctor, limited use of the dominant arm can interrupt clinical duties even after the acute pain eases. Internal injuries also require observation because symptoms may emerge after the scene has been cleared.
