Dhirendra Shastri Backs Swami Avimukteshwaranand on Cow Protection During Varanasi Visit

Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, the head priest of Bageshwar Dham, expressed support for Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati during his visit to Varanasi. Speaking in Kashi, Shastri said he stands with saints who raise their voices for cow protection, the Bhagavad Gita, and Sanatan Dharma.
Shastri arrived in the city with his mother and visited the sacred Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple for darshan. During his visit, devotees gathered around him and many were seen taking selfies while he interacted with followers and shared messages about faith, spirituality, and positive living.
Responding to questions about the upcoming religious gathering in Lucknow related to cow protection, Shastri said he had not received an invitation for the event but morally supports the campaign being raised by Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand.
He also announced that he will soon go into a one-month period of spiritual retreat and self-discipline. During this time, he plans to stay away from public interaction, including mobile phones, television appearances, interviews, and religious gatherings. According to him, such periods of solitude and spiritual practice are important for personal discipline and reflection.
Shastri added that after completing his spiritual practices, including meditation in the Himalayan region near Badrinath, he hopes to return with renewed energy and a clearer vision for his spiritual work.
