Today is not a fresh registration day for CSAB supernumerary seats. Friday, 28 August 2026, 17:00 hrs, is the last clock in the official brochure for two leftover jobs: resolving Supernumerary Seat Acceptance Fee payment attempts that were started before the deadline, and answering queries raised in online document verification. Physical reporting at the allotted NIT continues through 31 August.

The Central Seat Allocation Board homepage, last updated 25 August 2026 when this desk opened it, already says the CSAB SUPERNUMERARY 2026 allotment result has been announced. A “View Seat Allotment Result” control sits on that home card. The dedicated supernumerary page repeats the frame: a round for supernumerary seats at NIT Calicut, NIT Durgapur and SVNIT Surat, on JEE (Main) rank, for candidates from the Union Territories of Andaman & Nicobar, Lakshadweep, Daman & Diu, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli.

This is not JoSAA and not CSAB Special. The supernumerary page says eligibility, choice filling, allotment and fee rules differ. Earlier JoSAA or CSAB Special registration is “NOT valid” for this round, the brochure says. Fresh registration was required.

What Friday 17:00 hrs is for

The Information Brochure, CSAB Supernumerary Rounds 2026, Version 1.0 dated 19 August 2026, coordinated by IIEST Shibpur and approved by the CSAB 2026 Core Committee, prints the timetable. Online registration and choice filling ran from 10:00 hrs on Friday 21 August to 17:00 hrs on Monday 24 August. Allotment displayed at 17:00 hrs on Tuesday 25 August. Document upload, SSAF payment and online document verification, including PwD status, ran from 19:00 hrs on 25 August to 17:00 hrs on Thursday 27 August.

The next line is today’s line: “Resolution of SSAF payment issues for candidates who have made SSAF payment attempts before the payment deadline. Last day to respond to queries — Fri, 28 Aug 2026, 17:00 hrs.” A payment attempt, the footnote says, means the candidate uploaded the required documents and clicked the payment button but could not complete the payment. It is not a new first attempt after 27 August 17:00 hrs.

If a query is sitting on the CSAB supernumerary login, Friday 17:00 hrs is the last scheduled hour to answer it. The brochure is explicit on what happens if documents, SSAF and query replies are not completed: the allocated seat “will AUTOMATICALLY be CANCELLED.”

SSAF is ₹38,000 for GEN, GEN-EWS and OBC-NCL candidates and ₹18,000 for SC, ST and PwD candidates who got the allotment for the first time. It includes a ₹5,000 CSAB supernumerary processing charge. Fees already paid in JoSAA 2026 or CSAB Special 2026 are adjusted; the balance is due. The processing charge is not refundable. The rest of SSAF is adjusted against institute admission fee.

Who this round was for

Eligible candidates are those who were eligible for JoSAA-2026 or CSAB-2026 Special on JEE (Main) 2026 ranks, whose State Code of Eligibility is one of the four UTs, and who do not have a valid allocated seat in the NIT+ system at the end of all those rounds. Candidates still occupying a JoSAA/CSAB Special seat, or a DASA-2026 seat, are not eligible.

Allotment is on JEE (Main) 2026 CRL rank. The brochure’s available-seat table for this round: Dadra & Nagar Haveli at SVNIT Surat — 0 of 10 sanctioned; Daman & Diu at SVNIT Surat — 18 of 23; Lakshadweep at NIT Calicut — 37 of 37; Andaman & Nicobar at NIT Durgapur — 38 of 47. Those are the brochure numbers, not a live vacancy board for 28 August.

Required uploads include Class X or birth certificate, Class XII marksheet, category certificate where applicable, UDID or PwD certificate, State of Eligibility proof, medical certificate, and OCI/PIO card where applicable.

Physical reporting through 31 August

Confirmed candidates report physically from Wednesday 26 August to Monday 31 August 2026. The brochure tells them to read the allotted institute’s own website for actual reporting dates, class start and balance fee. PwD physical verification at the admitting institute is mandatory at reporting. PwD candidates who still needed centre verification were pointed to 26–28 August at NIT Calicut, NIT Durgapur or SVNIT Surat.

Failing to complete institute reporting and balance fee, the brochure says, can cancel the allotment with no refund. Today’s 17:00 hrs close is the portal side. The campus side still runs through 31 August. Use csab.nic.in and the NIT you were allotted — not a forwarded Special-round login from July.
