Cough Syrup Trafficking Case Sonbhadra Police to Seize ₹28 Crore Properties of Bhola Jaiswal in Varanasi

In a major development in the cough syrup trafficking case, the Sonbhadra Police are set to seize properties worth approximately ₹28 crore belonging to Bhola Jaiswal, who is currently lodged in jail. The action will be carried out in Varanasi as part of ongoing legal proceedings under the NDPS Act.
According to official sources, the operation will be conducted under the leadership of City Circle Officer Ranveer Mishra, following orders issued by the Sonbhadra NDPS Court. The seizure will be executed under Section 107 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). Properties located in the areas of Bhelupur, Chetganj, and Sigra police station limits have been identified for action.
Officials stated that both movable and immovable assets are included in the proposed seizure. Sources indicated that one residential property has already been sealed, while proceedings to seize another property are likely to follow. The total value of the assets under action is estimated at around ₹28 crore. The move is being viewed as a significant step in the investigation, signaling a shift toward targeting the financial gains linked to the alleged illegal trade. Authorities maintain that further action will depend on court directions and the outcome of ongoing investigations.
