Congress Holds Press Conference in Varanasi on Women’s Reservation Issue

As part of a nationwide series of press conferences organized under the directions of the All India Congress Committee, a media briefing was held at the Congress office in Maidagin, Varanasi, focusing on the issue of women’s reservation.
Addressing the media, Netta D’Souza, National Secretary of the All India Congress Committee and former National President of the Mahila Congress, highlighted the importance and urgency of ensuring adequate political representation for women.
She emphasized that women’s empowerment cannot be achieved without their active participation in the political decision-making process. Stressing the need for structural reforms, she stated that the Congress party has consistently advocated for the implementation of women’s reservation to strengthen inclusivity and equality in governance.
The press conference was part of a coordinated effort across the country to raise awareness about the significance of women’s reservation and to push for its effective implementation.
Party members and local leaders were also present during the briefing, reiterating the demand for greater representation of women in legislative bodies.
