Chinese Manjha Par Sakht Action | Makar Sankranti Se Pehle Varanasi Police Alert.
No media included.
Ahead of the Makar Sankranti festival, the Varanasi Police have issued a strict alert regarding the illegal sale and use of Chinese manjha, which has been declared completely banned due to its serious threat to human life and public safety.
Police Commissioner Mohit Agarwal has clearly stated that the sale, storage, and use of Chinese manjha is prohibited.
The sharp and synthetic thread has been responsible for several incidents of injuries, fatalities, and harm to birds in the past, especially during the festive season.
To ensure effective enforcement, citizens who spot the sale of Chinese manjha anywhere in the city can lodge a complaint directly between 12 PM and 1 PM by calling 9670705555. The identity of the complainant will be kept strictly confidential.
As part of the enforcement strategy, police personnel will conduct checks in civil dress by posing as customers at shops. Any shopkeeper found involved in the illegal sale of Chinese manjha will face strict legal action as per the law.
The police have appealed to citizens to celebrate Makar Sankranti responsibly and to cooperate with authorities in preventing the use of banned materials that pose a danger to lives and public safety.
