Dalmandi witnessed a major administrative action on Tuesday as authorities began demolition proceedings in the area. After initial action using hammers, a bulldozer was brought in to speed up the process.
Officials said the building was not vacated even after the deadline had expired. As a result, workers entered the premises after breaking the shutter, while heavy police deployment was made to maintain law and order.
Within half an hour, the upper portion of the building was demolished. During the action, women present inside the house protested against the demolition. A women police team entered the building to handle the situation and ensure safety.
Officials said that a bulldozer will fully arrive shortly to continue the demolition work. Security arrangements remain tight in the area to prevent any untoward incident.
