Bihar opens M.Pharm counselling registration for GPI Patna; GPAT candidates can apply till 1 October

PATNA: GPAT-qualified pharmacy graduates hoping for a government M.Pharm seat in Bihar have a one-week window. The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board has opened registration for Post Graduate Pharmacy Admission Counselling (PGPAC) 2026 from 25 September to 10 PM on 1 October.

Two advertisements dated 24 September, BCECEB(PGPAC)-2026/01 and 2026/02, invite fresh registrations for first-year admission in the 2026-27 session. The seats are in two M.Pharm programmes, Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, at the Government Pharmacy Institute (G.P.I.), Agamkuan, Patna.

Key dates

Registration opens on 25 September and closes at 10 PM on 1 October 2026. Payment and final submission of the form must be completed by 11:59 PM on 1 October. An editing window to fix errors in entries, photographs or signatures is open until 11:59 PM on 2 October, and only for candidates who submitted and paid in time.

The rank card and counselling programme will be published on 3 October at 8 PM, on the basis of merit and seat availability. The proposed date of counselling is 7 October. Both counselling and admission will be held offline.

The Board has made one point clear: candidates apply only once, and seat allotment in all rounds of counselling will be based on that single application. There will be no second chance to apply after the deadline.

How to apply

The prospectus and the application link are on bceceboard.bihar.gov.in under the PGPAC-2026 link. The form is filled in five steps: registration, a multi-part application covering personal, contact, educational and GPAT details with photo and signature upload, preview and final submission, fee payment, and download of the confirmation page and fee receipt.

At registration, the candidate must use their own or a parent's mobile number and email address. Both are verified with separate codes, and the Board says they cannot be changed for the rest of the session once verified.

The counselling fee is Rs 2,200 for all categories, Unreserved, EWS, BC, EBC, SC, ST and DQ (PwBD) alike, paid online by debit or credit card, net banking or UPI, with a processing charge on top. The fee is not refundable. If money is debited but the transaction fails, the candidate must pay again; the failed amount will be refunded in due course. The helpdesk number is 0612-2220230.

The reservation category must be filled in line with Bihar's reservation rules as applicable on the date online submission begins. No hard copy needs to be posted, but the confirmation page must be produced at counselling.

Documents for counselling day

Candidates must bring originals of the GPAT score card, the PGPAC-2026 rank card, Matric and Intermediate Science certificates and mark sheets, and the B.Pharm certificate and mark sheet. Those with a CGPA must bring a percentage conversion certificate from their institution.

The list also includes a residence certificate and caste certificate issued by the Circle Officer or Revenue Officer, a current-year EWS certificate and DQ certificate where applicable, six passport-size photographs matching the upload, a copy of the Aadhaar card, and a printout of the confirmation page.

The Board has reserved the right to amend the prospectus conditions before counselling. It has also warned applicants not to wait until the last day, saying it will not be responsible for internet or banking failures near the deadline.
