BHU Opens 10-Day Online Workshop on Research Methodology in Social Sciences

Varanasi, June 24: Banaras Hindu University has inaugurated a 10-day online workshop on Research Methodology in Social Sciences at the Centre for the Study of Social Inclusion, Faculty of Social Sciences.
The workshop is aimed at promoting quality and scientific research practices in the social sciences. More than 150 participants reportedly joined the programme online.
Workshop Inaugurated at BHU
The programme is being organised under the joint aegis of the Centre for the Study of Social Inclusion and the Department of Microbiology, IMS-BHU, along with Vihan Samiti and Jan Kalyan Vikas Foundation Trust, according to reports.
The inaugural session included academic participation from senior scholars and invited speakers. The workshop is expected to include discussions and sessions connected with research design, methods and academic standards in social science inquiry.
Focus on Scientific Research Methods
Research methodology workshops are important for students, research scholars and early-career academics because they help clarify how research questions are framed, how data is collected and how evidence is interpreted.
In social sciences, where subjects often involve communities, institutions, behaviour and public policy, strong methodology is essential for credible findings. Training programmes can help participants avoid weak assumptions, improve documentation and present research with greater clarity.
Academic Value for Researchers
The BHU workshop is expected to support participants in improving their understanding of scientific research practices. Such programmes also create a space for interaction between students, faculty members and external experts.
For Varanasi's academic community, the initiative adds to BHU's ongoing role as a major centre for research, higher education and interdisciplinary learning.
