Beed Student Approaches Bombay High Court Over Alleged 522 vs 95 Score Mismatch

MUMBAI, INDIA — A NEET-UG 2026 aspirant from Maharashtra’s Beed district, Soham Nitin Gavte, has moved the Aurangabad Bench of the Bombay High Court after discovering a massive discrepancy in his official scorecard issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

According to the petitioner, his calculations based on the official answer key and OMR sheet indicated a score of 522 marks out of 720. However, the official results declared by the NTA awarded him just 95 marks, prompting legal intervention.

Unanswered Appeals Lead to Judicial Intervention

The petitioner stated that despite multiple attempts to seek clarification and re-evaluation from the testing body via formal emails and helpline requests, no satisfactory resolution or correction was provided. Left with no alternative, the student filed a writ petition through advocates Sudarshan Salunke and Mahendra Gandle.

The plea requests the High Court to order:

• Verification of Raw Documents: A physical and digital audit of the candidate's original OMR response sheet.

• Score Correction: Directing the NTA to rectify the evaluation error and issue a revised scorecard.

• Institutional Transparency: Addressing procedural evaluation gaps in national-level entrance examinations.
