All India Bank Retirees’ Federation (AIBRF), Uttar Pradesh — District Unit Varanasi — has announced a dharna–pradarshan to raise long-pending demands of retired bank employees. The protest highlights serious concerns related to pension revision and post-retirement welfare, reflecting the growing dissatisfaction among bank retirees.

Key demands include pension updation in line with the RBI formula, withdrawal of GST on group insurance policies for retirees, and the provision of special allowance for employees who retired after 2012. The federation has also called for a direct dialogue mechanism with the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) to address retirees’ issues transparently and effectively.

In addition, the retirees have demanded the implementation of a uniform “one rank, one pension” principle for bank employees and the regularisation of ex-gratia payments as per established norms. According to the federation, these demands are essential to ensure dignity, financial security, and social justice for those who devoted decades of service to the banking sector.

The demonstration reflects collective unity and determination, with retirees urging policymakers and banking authorities to recognise their contributions and take immediate steps to resolve these longstanding issues.

“AIBRF Zindabad, Hamari Ekta Zindabad” — the slogan echoes the spirit of solidarity and the resolve to continue the struggle until justice is delivered.
