Attempted Theft Foiled in Kal Bhairav Area of Varanasi, One Accused Caught

Varanasi: A sensational incident of attempted theft has come to light in the Kal Bhairav area under the jurisdiction of Kal Bhairav Temple and Kotwali Police Station limits. The incident took place near the local post office, where a traveler arriving from Bangalore was targeted by thieves.
According to reports, the accused attempted to steal money by cutting the pocket of the traveler’s undergarment with a blade, a tactic sometimes used by pickpockets in crowded areas. However, the theft attempt was foiled due to the alertness of other passengers present at the scene.
As soon as the suspicious activity was noticed, nearby travelers intervened and managed to catch one of the accused on the spot. The apprehended individual was immediately handed over to the police at Kotwali Police Station.
The victim has filed a written complaint regarding the incident, after which the police initiated an investigation. Authorities are now questioning the arrested suspect and are trying to identify whether more individuals were involved in the attempted theft.
Police officials stated that further legal action will be taken after the completion of the investigation. The incident has once again highlighted the need for vigilance in crowded public areas and transport hubs in the city.
