BENGALURU: The Ather Rizta family scooter starts at Rs 1,21,999 for the Rizta S and Rs 1,36,999 for the Rizta Z, according to the model comparison on Ather Energy's official Rizta page. Both are listed as starting prices, price as of 9 October 2026, 7:05 AM IST, and the gap between the two versions is exactly Rs 15,000.

With Diwali on 8 November and the festive buying window now in full swing, the Rizta is one of the electric scooters many families will shortlist. Here is what each version gets, where they are identical, and what the listed price does and does not include, using only what Ather publishes on its own website.

Ather Rizta S and Rizta Z prices

Ather lists the Rizta S from Rs 1,21,999 and the Rizta Z from Rs 1,36,999. Both carry an asterisk marking them as starting prices, and Ather's own pricing pages show figures by city, so the final invoice depends on where you buy. Registration, insurance and accessories are extra, so the on-road figure will be higher than these listings.

Paint choice also changes the bill. On the Rizta S, the Super Matte shades, Terracotta Red and Pangong Blue, cost Rs 2,000 more than the Mono shades, Deccan Grey and Siachen White. The Rizta Z offers the same four single-tone options plus five Duo dual-tone finishes, Terracotta Red, Deccan Grey, Alphonso Yellow, Cardamom Green and Pangong Blue, each listed at Rs 1,000 extra.

If you want an earlier reference point for how electric scooter pricing is moving this season, our report on the Ampere Nexus EX Plus at Rs 1,29,999 puts a rival family scooter in the same price band.

Range, speed and storage are the same on both

Both the Rizta S and the Rizta Z are listed with two IDC range options, 123 km and 161 km, depending on the battery pack chosen. IDC figures come from a standard test cycle, so real-world range will usually be lower, especially with a pillion, in traffic or in hot weather.

Performance figures in Ather's comparison table are identical across the two versions. Each does 0 to 40 km/h in 4.7 seconds and has a listed top speed of 80 km/h. Standard battery warranty on both is 3 years or 30,000 km, and Ather separately sells extended battery cover on its warranty pages.

Storage is one of the Rizta's main selling points. Ather lists a 34-litre boot under the seat. Its page also mentions a 22-litre front storage unit, which it marks with a symbol indicating it is not part of the standard scooter, so buyers should check at the showroom whether it is included in their quote.

What the extra Rs 15,000 buys

The difference between the two shows up in features rather than hardware. In Ather's comparison table, the Rizta S has no navigation, while the Rizta Z gets Google Maps. The Z also gets Magic Twist, Ather's feature that lets the rider slow the scooter through regenerative braking using the throttle, and a pillion backrest.

For a family that mostly rides short, known routes, the S covers the basics. Buyers who want on-screen navigation and a more comfortable seat for the person behind them will find those only on the Z, and the dual-tone colours are also limited to that version.

Charging and subsidy context

Ather says owners can charge at home with its Ather Duo portable charger, which can be wall-mounted or carried in the boot, and on its public fast-charging network, which the company says has more than 6,100 points across over 370 cities.

The central government's PM E-DRIVE scheme still supports eligible electric two-wheelers, and brands usually show prices with that benefit already counted. Our PM E-DRIVE subsidy guide for Diwali explains how the amount is worked out and what you need to show at the dealership.

What buyers should check

Before booking, ask the dealer for an itemised on-road quote that separates the ex-showroom price, registration, insurance and any accessories or software packs. Confirm which battery size the quote covers, since the listed starting price may not apply to the larger pack, and check the delivery date in writing during the festive rush.

Prices on Ather's website can change without notice. The figures in this report are from the official Rizta page as seen on 9 October 2026, and we will update the story if the company revises them before Diwali.
