Assi Ghat Parking Project Fast-Tracked, Varanasi Mayor Sets April 30 Deadline.

VARANASI: In a major relief for tourists and locals struggling with traffic congestion near the famous Assi Ghat, the Varanasi Municipal Corporation has fast-tracked the construction of the proposed parking facility. Mayor Ashok Kumar Tiwari has set a strict deadline of April 30 for the project's completion.
The project had been pending approval of its technical drawing and design. During a review meeting on Tuesday, the Mayor directed officials to coordinate with Banaras Hindu University (BHU) to expedite the approval process.
As soon as the drawing design is approved by BHU, the work must commence on a war footing, the Mayor instructed. He emphasized that the parking facility is crucial for managing the crowd at the ghat.
The Mayor has drawn a line in the sand regarding the timeline. If the construction agency fails to complete the parking facility by April 30, a heavy financial penalty will be imposed on them. He stated that delays in public utility projects will no longer be tolerated.
