Apple has opened sales of Special Edition AirPods 5 with a rangoli-inspired engraving on the charging case in India. The ₹17,900 edition is available from 11 October to 11 November 2026, while supplies last, with a limit of two units per customer. Its festive design comes with specific offer and replacement restrictions.

The checked Apple India online-store model is MLDF4HN/A, Special Edition AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case. Its price as of 13 October 2026, 05:57 IST, was ₹17,900, the maximum retail price including taxes. The official buying page had an enabled Add to Bag option. No postcode-specific delivery date or individual store inventory was verified.

Apple's terms also name Apple Store locations and its telephone shopping channel as sales routes. The supply condition means the stated window is not a promise that the engraved version will remain available until its final day. The two-unit cap applies per customer.

A case design, with the same underlying generation

The edition's distinguishing feature is the festive case engraving, which places a heart-eyes face within a rangoli-inspired pattern. This is not the announcement of a new AirPods generation. Apple introduced AirPods 5 on 9 September, with store availability from 18 September, according to its original India launch release.

That release priced the standard AirPods 5 at ₹14,900 and AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case at ₹17,900. The festive edition therefore matches the announced list price of the wireless-case version. Comparing it only with the ₹14,900 entry model would miss the different charging case and associated features.

Underneath the design is Apple's H2 headphone chip and an open-ear fit. The specifications include Active Noise Cancellation, Adaptive Audio, Transparency and Conversation Awareness. These are the manufacturer's listed capabilities; the festive edition has not been independently tested for sound quality or noise reduction as part of this report.

The wireless-case version adds a force sensor with a volume-swipe control on the stem. Its case accepts USB-C charging, an Apple Watch charger or a Qi-certified wireless charger. A built-in speaker helps locate the case through Find My, for which Apple specifies iOS 27 or later.

Check the phone and charging accessories

Apple's technical specifications claim up to five hours of listening on a charge with Active Noise Cancellation enabled, or up to seven hours with noise control off. With repeated charging from the case, the quoted total is up to 22 hours with Active Noise Cancellation. Those are test-based maximums, and actual runtime depends on settings, environment and use.

The box does not contain a USB-C charge cable or power adapter. A compatible cable and charging source already owned may cover that need, but someone giving the earbuds as a gift should check what the recipient has. Wireless charging support likewise does not mean a wireless charger is supplied.

Live Translation remains a beta feature requiring a compatible Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone, current software and AirPods firmware, with Apple Intelligence turned on. The edition page's supported-language list does not include Hindi. Indian availability of the product should therefore not be read as support for translation in every Indian language.

Apple also describes Siri AI as beginning in English, with compatible-device and software requirements and possible usage limits. AirPods can operate as Bluetooth headphones with non-Apple devices or older Apple software, but Apple warns that functionality can be limited. A phone's ability to pair with the earbuds is not proof that it supports every advertised software feature.

The special-edition conditions matter

The edition-specific terms exclude combination with other AirPods offers and with Business, Education or Corporate Employee Purchase Plans. Although generic cashback material appears elsewhere on Apple's store, no cashback has been deducted from the ₹17,900 price here. Dalimss News' earlier Apple India cashback coverage should not be taken as confirmation that this edition qualifies.

Apple further says a repair or replacement may use the standard-edition wireless-case model, depending on supply. That matters for someone choosing the earbuds specifically for the engraving: the same decorative finish is not assured for a future replacement. For a broader spending comparison, the earbuds-versus-phone upgrade guide considers which part of an existing setup needs changing.
