Andhra Pradesh PG dental: Phase-II allotments final, free exit for AIQ open till 28 September

VIJAYAWADA: Dental postgraduates in Andhra Pradesh have two dates to watch in the coming days. Dr NTR University of Health Sciences has confirmed the final Phase-II allotments for PG dental seats under the Competent Authority Quota, and separately opened a free exit window for Phase-I allottees who want to try their luck in the all India round.

Phase-II result stands, report by 30 September

A notice numbered 5148/EA2/PG/2026 and dated 24 September says the final result for PG Dental Degree and Diploma counselling under the Competent Authority Quota, Phase-II, is now available. The university says all grievances were examined by the Selection Committee and no discrepancies were found in the allotments already released.

Allotted candidates must report at their college by 2 PM on 30 September 2026. The college-wise final list says classes will commence on 1 October. Candidates are to download the allotment letter from the university website and follow the instructions on it. The list shows, against each name, whether the seat was allotted in Phase-1 or Phase-2.

The notice carries a warning that dual reporting in Andhra Pradesh state counselling and any other counselling, including the all India quota, will be seriously viewed.

Free exit for Phase-I seat holders

A second notification, dated 25 September, deals with candidates who took Phase-I seats in state counselling but want to join AIQ Round-2 instead. They can resign under a free exit provision between 25 September and 3 PM on Monday, 28 September.

The process is in person. The candidate must go to the allotted college, resign the Phase-I seat and submit an undertaking in the format annexed to the notification. The undertaking asks for the NEET MDS roll number and rank, the specialty and college allotted, and a declaration that the resignation is final and irrevocable.

Principals have been told to enter every resignation in the college login, freeze the data by 4 PM on 28 September, and email a signed copy of the reported, not-reported and resigned list to the university. They must return original certificates, tuition fees and any other fees collected to candidates who resign. If this process is not completed, the resignation will be treated as null and void.

What a candidate gives up

The notification is blunt about the trade-off. Once a candidate uses free exit, the vacated seat can no longer be claimed and will not be available to that candidate in Phase-III. Resigned candidates can still take part in Phase-III as per eligibility, and the seats they vacate will be added to the Phase-III pool.

No request for extending the free exit deadline will be entertained under any circumstances. Reporting in both AIQ and state quota is prohibited, and any instance of dual reporting may lead to penalties including disqualification.

The window lines up with the national calendar. The Medical Counselling Committee's MDS schedule dated 10 September sets reporting and joining for AIQ Round 2 from 24 to 30 September, with the academic session beginning on 1 October. A candidate holding an AIQ Round-2 seat and a state Phase-I seat has until Monday afternoon to decide which one to keep.
