Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh — A massive fire broke out in a fruit market in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, causing extensive damage and panic in the area.
According to initial reports, more than 20 shops were gutted in the blaze as flames quickly spread across the market. During the incident, several loud blasts were also heard, raising fears that LPG cylinders may have exploded inside some of the shops.
Local residents and shopkeepers rushed to the spot as the fire intensified, while emergency services were immediately informed.
Fire brigade teams reached the location and began rescue and firefighting operations to control the blaze and prevent it from spreading further.
Authorities said that relief and rescue work is currently underway, and efforts are being made to completely extinguish the fire. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
Officials are also assessing the extent of damage and possible losses suffered by shopkeepers due to the incident.
