Action to Be Taken Against Vehicles Without Number Plates in Varanasi

Varanasi: The Varanasi Police will initiate strict action against vehicles operating without number plates as part of a drive to strengthen traffic management and road safety in the city.
Police Commissioner Mohit Agrawal has issued clear instructions to take action against such vehicles during routine traffic checks. The directive was given while reviewing traffic arrangements to ensure smooth and safe movement on city roads.
As part of the inspection, the Police Commissioner conducted a field visit to areas including Nadesar, Andhrapul, Roadways, Englishiya Line, and Lahartara, assessing ground-level traffic conditions and enforcement measures.
During the inspection, shopkeepers were warned against encroachments on roads, which often cause traffic congestion. The police have been instructed to run coordinated enforcement drives involving Traffic Police and Civil Police to take action against traffic rule violators.
Special emphasis has been laid on:
Vehicles running without number plates
Illegal roadside encroachments
Unauthorized parking in no-parking zones
Vehicles illegally stationed on main roads
The Police Commissioner directed officials to launch focused campaigns to curb traffic violations and ensure disciplined road usage across the city.
Authorities stated that sustained enforcement will continue to improve traffic flow and enhance commuter safety in Varanasi.
