5-Hour Electricity Shutdown in Madouli Feeder Areas Today

VARANASI, INDIA — Residents in several localities under the 11 KV Madouli feeder in Varanasi will experience a temporary disruption in electricity supply today, July 20, 2026. The power distribution department has announced a scheduled five-hour power outage to undertake critical infrastructure maintenance, including underground cable charging and load testing work.
Affected Localities and Schedule
According to Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Neeraj Bind, the technical and maintenance operations are scheduled to take place between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
During this maintenance window, power supply will remain completely suspended across the following areas and their immediate surroundings:
Harpalpur
Kesharipur
Bhullanpur Chauraha
Churamanpur Panchayat Bhawan
Adjacent neighborhoods under the Madouli Feeder
Advisory for Residents
The power department has urged affected consumers to complete essential household and commercial tasks requiring electricity—such as filling water storage tanks and charging electronic devices—prior to the start of the shutdown at 11:00 AM.
Official representatives highlighted that underground cable charging and load testing are essential preventive measures to prevent unscheduled outages and ensure smooth, uninterrupted power delivery during peak demand hours. Power supply is expected to be restored promptly after 4:00 PM upon completion of testing procedures.
