₹28 Crore Properties of Jailed Accused Bhola Jaiswal Seized in Varanasi in Cough Syrup Case

Authorities have intensified action in the cough syrup trafficking case with the seizure of properties worth around ₹28 crore belonging to Bhola Jaiswal, an accused currently lodged in jail. The properties, located in Varanasi, were seized on the directions of the Sonbhadra NDPS Court as part of the ongoing legal proceedings. Speaking to DALIMSS News, Randhir Mishra, City Circle Officer (CO), Sonbhadra Police, confirmed that the action was carried out under Section 107 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
He said properties situated in the Bhelupur, Chetganj, and Sigra areas were identified and sealed following due legal process. Mishra added that the seizure included both movable and immovable assets. While one residential property has already been sealed, proceedings to seize another property are currently underway. He emphasized that the entire operation was conducted strictly in compliance with court orders and statutory provisions. The officer further stated that investigators are focusing on tracking the financial proceeds allegedly generated through the illegal trade.
He said further legal action will depend on the outcome of the ongoing investigation and subsequent directions from the court.
