Varanasi: The spiritual capital of India, Varanasi, is preparing for one of its most vibrant and spiritually significant festivals — Rangbhari Ekadashi. The sacred occasion marks the ceremonial gauna of Maa Gauri and signals the grand beginning of Holi celebrations in the city of Lord Shiva.

According to temple authorities, Maa Gauri’s traditional gauna ceremony will be performed with full Vedic rituals and devotion. The ritual symbolises the divine moment when Maa Gauri, after her celestial wedding, departs from her maternal home and ceremonially enters Kashi, the abode of Lord Shiva. The festival beautifully blends devotion, culture, and celebration, transforming the city into a canvas of colors and chants of “Har Har Mahadev.”

Grand Procession to Begin at 5 PM

In an exclusive interaction, the Mahant of Maa Gauri temple shared that the grand procession will commence around 5:00 PM. Saints, devotees, and temple representatives will accompany the divine procession with traditional music, devotional songs, and showers of gulal. The streets of Kashi are expected to resonate with spiritual energy as thousands gather to witness the spectacle.

Darshan for Devotees from 8 AM

For the general public, darshan will begin at 8:00 AM, allowing devotees to seek blessings on this auspicious day. Special arrangements have been put in place to manage the anticipated crowd and ensure a smooth and safe experience for visitors.

Holi Celebrations Officially Begin in Kashi

Rangbhari Ekadashi holds immense religious importance in Kashi, as it officially marks the commencement of Holi festivities in the city. Unlike other regions, Holi in Varanasi begins with divine rituals before transitioning into days of vibrant celebration.
