CBSE 2026 Board Exams See Major Shift as Digital Evaluation and Two-Attempt System Gain Attention

The ongoing CBSE Board Exams 2026 are trending across India as students, parents, and teachers experience one of the biggest examination reforms introduced in recent years.
For the first time, CBSE has implemented a two-attempt system for Class 10 students, allowing them to appear again for improvement within the same academic session, with the best score being considered final. Education experts say this move is designed to reduce exam stress and give students a fair second opportunity.
Another major change attracting attention is the introduction of On-Screen Marking (OSM) for Class 12 answer sheets. Under this system, answer copies are scanned and evaluated digitally, helping minimise calculation errors and speeding up result processing.
Teachers across schools report that digital evaluation also reduces logistical challenges, as examiners can check papers remotely instead of travelling to marking centres.
Education analysts believe these reforms represent a significant shift toward technology-driven assessment, encouraging transparency and efficiency in board examinations.
